chrome pieces for custom projects
Is there a chrome trim that is sold for cars or something else thats cheap for making custom projects. Im helping a friend detail some custom work. looking for an affordable 1 inch wide strip similar a 48-50 hood strip but longer.

I have used aluminum strips, easy to shape the corners with a router and easy to polish. Bends easily as well. All depends on the length, shape, and thickness fo the final piece you are working towards.

There are a number of suppliers here in San Diego...I use Industrial Metal Supply, they are a chain in SoCal and AZ. I have also bought from online suppliers through ebay and direct internet contact. As avf100 suggests, the home improvement stores do carry a limited selection at a higher cost but if they have what you need it may be worth it.
