I hear ya.
Painted bumpers would be chipped and rusting in a few months of the roads I drive. It's chrome or nothing.
I guess that's why I have the big KR panel on the tailgate.
The painted bumpers hold up well. I very rarely wash my 2009 KR, driving on salty roads all winter. After 8 years and 145k miles, there is still no rust. Personally, I really like two tone / painted bumper / less chrome look of my 2009, thus my decision for my 2017.

Nice looking truck, good to hear about the bumpers.

Nice looking color combo.
I drive a lot of gravel. And the painted bumpers get chipped in short order and then begin rusting. On trip through high stalk canola stubble or scrub and the paint is all scratched up.
Chrome is far more durable for my situation.
