2002 f250 4x4 front hub bearing sound
this is a 200k truck I bought used and unable to verify mileage of the front axle, as its not the original. When in 4x4 hear a clunking sound in left front hub area. In 2wd im hearing the bearings rotate with a noticeable metallic noise proportionate to revolutions of the wheel.
Ive replaced the inner axle bearing with Timken bearings on both sides, generously greased upon onstallation.. Also replaced the Warn hubs that were on it with a new set. the old Warn hubs were worn on the furthest inner brass lockup point. Anyway what im wondering is if the hub bearings that are not serviceable ( that I know of) might be goiing bad. The inner axle shaft has just the smallest amount of play and is not sloppy by any means.
I plan oninstalling front stabilizer bar links soon , just wondering about these front sealed hubs . Any help is greatly appreciated, Ronjon
