Is this a locking hub problem?
I have a D50 monobeam from a 2002 F250 in my 92. As the wheel turns, and the axle does not, im getting a chatter. The axle seems to be somewhat loose at the hub. Simply turning the front driveshaft while parked is enough to get it to make noise, it is very loud when driving. Ive simply locked the hubs for now to keep the noise away. The locking hubs are my original D50 TTB hubs that have 300k on them, but very rarely used. The actual unit hub is a super cheapo from ebay that ive had good luck with (got 2 for $125) quality looks good, have had that one on for about 30k no play or anything unusual. That said, i think i remember there being a roller bearing on the inside for axle support, i suppose that couldve failed. Anyone dealt with this? If its probably the roller / needle bearing, i can take the other hub down to Kaman and just get a new bearing.
