Intermittent Cruise Control

Once I get it set, the CC works OK. But when trying to re-set speed by pressing increase or decrease controls, the CC will simply shut down. This happens most of the time. To set the speed I usually have to speed up to just about the exact speed I want, and then press the 2 controls to activate CC. Resume seems to work OK.

Something is not quite right. Any ideas?
Thanks

I just solved a very similar problem with my 2000 F250. My CC would set and then abruptly kick off. Sometimes it would work for a few minutes other times only a few seconds, then not at all.

I replaced the Brake Pedal Position switch and that did nothing to help. Then I replaced the Brake Pressure Switch at the master cylinder and now everything works as it should. Takes about 10 minutes to do.

Here is the kit I used: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e1140...&sojTags=bu=bu

Jim,

Thanks for your response. The link to the kit does not work. I get a message that says....... "You can't view these order details. To view this information, you must be logged into the guest or eBay account used to purchase this item. See instructions to view guest order details."

Can you try again? Thanks, Tom

Jim,

Thanks. I just ordered it. Someone else said that they thought it could be the problem too. What the heck? For $19 I will give it a shot. My truck is good for at least another 200K miles!! It will outlive me. (Had the head gasket / stud repair, oil cooler and egr delete, etc)
