Cuba only proves what a hypocrite our current president is. The ONLY justification left for invading Iraq was to get rid of Sadam for the sake of his people. Big, bad, terrible leader- he oppresses his countrymen, so we must get rid of him. Okay, following that line of thinking, why are we waiting to go after Castro? And several more dictators in Africa, South America, the Middle East and the Pacific? Why are the citizens of these OTHER countries not worthy of our invasion forces?
As for WMDs in Iraq, forget it- there are none. Numerous high-ranking captured Iraqis have been telling our people for months that Sadam started destroying the WMDs in 1995. His main goal was to get the UN to lift the sanctions, and he knew they would never do that if they discovered WMDs. He had the WMDs AT ONE TIME, but they've been gone for several years. The reports that he had them recently were put out by Sadam's people to keep his enemies within the Middle East from attacking him. Only now is our military beginning to take these reports seriously. Why? 'Cause they can't find any you-know-whats! At best, we relied on really poor intelligence; at worst, the American people were out-and-out lied to. 2 years ago today, I thought there was NO WAY anyone could beat GW in '04. Now, who knows? Either way, 2004 is SURE gonna be an interesting election!

Ill bet if Cuba had something we wanted, we would be there quick, and it wouldn't be a la bay of pigs style.
Castro is getting older, but who knows what will happen when he does die? There is no telling what psycho may or may not be waiting on him to keel over.
Cuba is such a sticky situation...
We should have lifted the travel embargo 10 years ago, but no politician likes to admit to mistakes or change anything, so here we are. From what I understand, many Cubans resent America for keeping them in the last century, and for good reason.
When Castro dies, will there be sweeping regime changes? I really don't think so, without an uprising. Will the US put a hand in the uprising? Probably not, tried that in the 1950's, ended up with a closet communist.
I think Cuba will someday be a great place for American interests to plunder and capitalize; until then Havana is gonna rot.

Also, I believe we signed an agreement with Russia after the missile crisis that promised we would never invade Cuba, as a requirement for removal of the missiles.
Of course, I don't know what that document is worth now, since the USSR technically doesn't exist anymore.
No need to get upset about Castro. Castro will soon be gone then Cuba can join the rest of the world. And, Koo'ba does have WMD's : if you don't thimk so just follow the Conga line into any bar and kick back about 4 shots of Tequila . You'll think you're radio active.......s.kuteman
