Replacement fuel pump 97 aerostar
Now at 506k miles on the Aerostar, I am on my second genuine motor craft fuel pump / tank sender assy it was motor craft pfs45. That was done in 2010. Anyone know the part number if motorcraft pump can be purchased separatly,
Not interested in Bosch, airtex carter. Only genuine. Has anyone substituted another motor craft pump from either ranger or other ford of that year. Thanks Jerry

506k miles, wow. I just replaced replaced the fuel pump on my 3.0L Vulcan 1992 Aerostar a few months ago, it has 254k miles. Between me and my parents, we have 6 Ford Aerostars. Unfortunately, I don't know the part number for the Motorcraft pump itself. Ford used the same fuel pumps for the same size engines. For example, an Aerostar with the 3.0L Vulcan has the same fuel pump as a 3.0L Vulcan Ranger. And an Aerostar with a 4.0L Cologne has the same fuel pump as a 4.0L Cologne Explorer. However, the sending units are different. I was able to find a Motorcraft pfs45 fuel pump and sending unit on ebay, there may be others on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Electric-Fu...hWjpFO&vxp=mtr
I have a suggestion, just hear me out. A fuel pump and sending unit with a lifetime warranty, but not Motorcraft, is your next best bet. I have never had any problems exchanging a part under a lifetime warranty from Advance Auto Parts. I have never known anyone to have problems with Autozone either. Just keep the receipt. A tip for the receipt, scan and print a copy of it, because the ink on the store receipt will fade over time. The fuel pump and sending unit I bought was made by Carquest.
If you ever want to cross reference parts for an Aerostar and another Ford, this is what I do. Go to one of the auto parts stores websites (Advance Auto Parts, Autozone, etc.) select the Aerostar as the vehicle and search for the part. In the results, make note of a couple of the item numbers. Then go select another Ford, like a Ranger, search for the same part again. In the results, look at the item numbers. If the item numbers are the same, that means the store sells the same part for both vehicles, therefore, the part is interchangeable between an Aerostar and a Ranger. This comes in very handy when trying to find parts from a salvage yard.
I hope something I said helps you, good luck.

A good substitute that is as good as OEM (or better) is Walbro. They also tolerate ethanol quite well.
Aerostar dude, you apparently have no experience with the typical aftermarket junk that the parts houses sell for these. They are typically worse than the old worn out factory part you are replacing. You are fortunate to get more than 10,000 miles out of most aftermarket pumps. You hear them whining and straining from day one, and if you go on a long road trip they vapor lock and leave you stranded.
Sure they offer a lifetime warranty, but who wants to drop the tank as often as possible. Put the good parts on there and don't worry about it for another 100,000 plus miles.

Is this one of the JUNK aftermarket pumps?
Fuel Pump Hanger Assembly Delphi HP10154 fits 89-97 Ford Aerostar
I have right at 210K on the original pump in my 93 and I'm getting nervous! My understanding is that DELPHI was the OE supplier to Ford... am I wrong about that?
UPDATE - I did find an NOS 97 FORD fuel pump on fleaBay yesterday.....$108 shipped to the door. I'll plan to install it this winter, before the original leaves me walking.
