Little background. Started out with 2005 Duramax ccsb. Then 2009 f350 diesel ccsb. Next was 2016 f350 diesel ccsb. Now having thoughts about 2017-18 diesel dually cclb. I use the trucks for hauling about half the time. Weights I haul are at the top of the range of the 2016. Would a dually make a big difference in handling? Drove one the other day. Did like the mileage. About the same as the one I have now, the 2016. The first 3 trucks I mentioned are srw. Wish I had built a bigger garage 25 years ago and decision would be easier!

I had a 2016 f350 srw. Thing is my fifth wheel was simply too heavy for the payload that I had available on the srw. Now people will throw rocks at me but I did prefer the short bed srw for towing that trailer.... Shorter truck overall was better especially in campgrounds. If you need the payload , go dually in fact you don't really have a choice. I'm not saying I don't like mine far from it. I just preferred the feeling. I now have a 5500 lbs payload in a well equipped truck and thats what mattered to me
If you do, seriously consider the F450. The wide-track tight turning are very beneficial. The stronger tires, bigger brakes, and wider front stance are nice as well.
450 would be nice but 350 should be fine. What are the main difference between the two? Besides price or is that like the difference between a 250 and a 350 are which is not much?
I've specifically danced around the dually, as I want a SRW truck. I've even tailored my 5th wheel to it. We just bought the 17, and did a CC SB SRW (again) We just like the form factor too much. Can't imagine parking a LB DRW everywhere.
Weighed the other day and came in at 7200lbs on the rear axle with full gray tanks, full fuel, and all passengers. Still G2G on a SRW .
As my shower tank basically sits on the pin, this is a worst case scenario for me - I never travel with full gray tanks.
another vote for F450, it's worth it alone for the wide track front axle. I can get my F450 around a lot easier than my 2015 F350 ccsb. Plus it's always nicer to have more truck than you need.
Bought mine to tow our 15K pound toyhauler. It does a great job and is real stable at highway speeds. I use it for a daily driver and it's not as bad as I thought...just have to be aware of where your parking. Getting 16-17 mpg for daily use and that's about what I was getting in my '13 F-150 Ecoboost.
I vote f450 and it's what I am looking at getting. With the 450's wide front axle turning radius is smaller than a ccsb srw so that's not an issue. As for width, with the new cameras and 360 view (I highly recommend you get that) its really not as bad as everyone says it is. You get so used to driving it that on the road, unless you live in a crowded tight city, you don't even notice it. With the wide front 450 and the cameras, parking is not that bad as well.
I too vote for the F450. Confession - I've never owned a pickup in my life. I need something to tow our soon to be purchased toy hauler. I read all the reviews and decided I wanted the tighter turning radius and better brakes. I wasn't worried about the capacity since the 350 has plenty.
IMO what makes the truck tricky to drive at times is the length more so than the width. The mirrors help a lot with the width. It's the length that makes it tricky at times. With my inexperience, I can't imagine a wider turning radius truck.

I have a 2017 F-450 as my daily driver and I really love it. The wide track is awesome. I would think you would too.
