Another Crown Vic frame thread

Hey guys I recently found a 2004 crown vic with 125,000 miles on it and it’s in perfect condition mechanically but with a crushed roof. I’ve heard lots of talk about putting a truck body on the frame (I own a 64 f100). I’d love to have all the comfort items the swap consists of such as power steering, power disk brakes, the ride quality of the suspension, modern drivetrain, decent gas mileage, etc. is this swap as simple as everyone claims it is? Thanks in advance

I'm just starting mine on a '64, I'll have to start a thread soon. I'm keeping the stock frame and using the CV suspension, engine, trans, and rear diff. I'm going to flip the diff and remove a spring or two, to get it lowered around 4" all around.

I have followed a lot of builds from what I'm doing to full frame swaps and in my opinion it all works, but there is quite a bit of fabrication work and electrical gremlin chasing.

My buddy who is a pretty good mechanic and is helping me says it will be easy except for the electrical, we'll see...

Looks like us '64 guys are wanting to swap out that wonderful handling and ride of the straight axel and get more pleasure driving it!

I to am going to be starting a CVPI swap, however same as F100'64..pulling the front end, drive train, using the 8.8 out of the CV as well but may do a 4 link, pending how much I need to drop the rear to look good for the front drop. Otherwise will use drop shackles. I want to keep my long bed and the truck is just to nice to cut up.

I have read a lot, watched a lot and swapping the body seems easier, but you really have to cut up the body, cab, bed, but this is what makes it cool, all the different ways to make it work huh.
Good luck on the build,, will be watching..

The 4 link would be pretty cool but more fab work than I want to do. Flipping the axle to the top side of the springs will drop the rear about 4 inches.

I'm also going to remove a spring or two to soften the ride. Not sure yet if I'll need to notch the frame or not.

For me this will be a slow crusier so I don't need the better handling of the 4 link.
