Road noise

Do ya'll think there is a difference in road noise in the short vs long bed? I imagine it'll push the noise further back but most of the noise comes from the front anyway... I'll be looking for a long bed (probably just for the fact of the larger tank and able to close the tail gate with the dirt bike in the rear).

Funny story...
Sitting at a light this morning on the way to work. Roll down my window and hear clack clack clack clack...looked around my truck like WTF is that noise? Then I finally noticed a RAM Cummins behind me. I couldnt hear my truck, and could hear his 20 ft behind me. Made me realize how quiet these 6.7L's are this time around. With my windows rolled up and stereo on at a "below-conversation-level", just a little background music, I cannot hear the diesel at all.
Which is awesome, but I also miss the turbo howl and rompy V8 noise from my 6.0L with a 4" turbo back straight pipe. Give and take.

I just listened to my 6.7 and his 6.2 side by side, both stock. From the back the 6.2 is slightly louder as I can't hear the exhaust on the 6.7 at all. From the front, almost identical and can't really tell one is louder than the other. I drove his 6.2 to get a feel for it but unfortunately the 6.2 has a really nice growl to it so I never got to see how quiet it was. I really don't think you'll be unhappy either way, both feel solid and extremely quiet if you keep your foot under control.

Interesting about the sounds you heard. Can’t wait to give them each a run. I am trying to avoid the 6.7 because I know I will love the torque. (Reminds me of the 450 dirt bike or 1kRR bikes torque). I’d like to get a fully optioned king ranch and I’ll have to custom order it. Knowing this, I won’t get much of a discount on the diesel. The ones remaining on the lot don’t have the key features I want like adaptive cruise control, spray in liner, long bed few cab, etc. most are XL’s or XLT’s and there is only one 6.2 on a lot 100 miles away in a short bed and I want the long bed. Oh well! I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings for the rigs.
