72 Radiator Support

Hello All

Looking for a 72 used radiator support . I would be open to anything from 73-79 , I think it would fit with a few little tweaks.

Thanks and let me know if you have something ... this one has too much rust to repair. Matt

TWO different 1967/72 F100/350 radiator supports.

The radiator support used with the Super Cooling radiator has a larger opening radius.

Standard, xtra cooling and A/C radiators measure approx: 26 1/4" wide x 19 3/4" high.

Super Cooling radiator (has a HUGE top tank) measures approx. 26 1/4" wide x 24 11/16" high.

Welcome to FTE and the Bumpside Kingdom.
You would prolly have more luck posting a WTB in the FTE "Marketplace". You might have to do a few more posts before you can post in the Marketplace. To get there, click on "Marketplace" in the black bar across the top of this page.

Radiator support

I have the one from my 68 with a 360. It has some surface rust but still solid. I have pictures that I can e mail. Where are you located ?
Also you can get a new one from Dennis Carpenter . I think I paid around $350.00 with the freight.

Thanks Kenny. I tried to email you back , but got some delivery failures so, I ll reply here just in case --

The 72 Ford is my buddy's truck and we have been working on together. He suddenly passed away a few weeks ago, and he has two twin boys 22 yrs old that he was fixing this up for. I owe it to him to get this finished and restored like he wanted.

The support in the 72 Ford here has pretty substantial rust issues all around. The one you have there looks much better !
I figure that UPS may ship if there is a box big enough? I would assume at least $50 to ship ?

Matt

Humor me here because my foggy memory is often disproved by the literature. When I was restoring my 72 F250 2wd with a 300-6 (20 some years ago), I ordered an new core support from Ford. It was exactly like the old one and if memory serves me, was six cylinder specific. The opening was for the very small 6 cylinder radiator but there was a bolt pattern for the (standard cooling I presume) V8 also stamped in. I also had a wrecked 72 F100, 302 I was rebuilding at the same time and used the old 6 cylinder core support but modified the cut out to match the V8 one. Did the 6 cylinder one also serve the V8 application and cutting on the line to enlarge the opening required? Just curious.

Provisions were made for all 3 radiators. One will work for each of them. An air saw or grinder is needed to open the hole.

I'm not sure what the factory offered but I ordered the radiator for the wrecked 72 302 pickup through the after market and there was a medium duty one too, which I went with. A 3 core that was thicker than the standard one it had but not the big super cooling one so that would make 4 different radiators including the six banger one.
