Ford 6.7L powerstroke P207F Nox sensor Code

First of all, Hi everyone!!! first timer here.
This is my first diesel truck (love the Power) but not the first Ford truck.
I'm sorry if stir up old treads but I couldn't find anything on this stuff anywhere in the forum.
1.)I have a 2013 KR 6.7L with 105,000. It's spitting out P207F which is believed to be Nox sensor. Which one? I thought there are 2 Nox sensors on a 2013.
2.) I would like to know is the Nox Sensor is the same as the EGT sensor but just called differently? I've been looking everywhere for the NOx sensor info but I couldn't find anything about it.
3.) I looked up the recall for my VIN and I have a recall for 2 items. 15M02 and 12M02.
4.) Will this P207f or nox sensor defect be covered with the Field Service Action Number: 15M02?

thanks in advance.
Loth

15M02 is for the extended coverage of the 4 EGT sensors.

The NOx sensor is located in the very rear part of the DOC/SCR/DPF assembly. The module for it is located on the frame rail above it. The NOx sensor is not an EGT, nor is it covered by the TSB that extended the warranty on the EGT sensors.

Hi EO2SeaBee,

Thank you very much for your reply. Here is my update!!!!

I finally found the location of the n=2 NOx sensors in the Coffee table PDF listed as NOx 11 and NOx12.
This is what I did in the order of process and step of each way.
1.) My truck is a 2013 with 105,000 miles and I had a P207F code which I believe it was the NOx sensor / Fluid contamination.
2.) I called the FORD HERB Chamber in Westborough, MA. They didn't want to have anything to do with me besides wanting money from me. I talked to the parts guy and service guy and they acted like they never heard of a NOx sensor problem. Really?? a dealership?? Whatever!!!
3.) I asked them how much the sensors were going to be and they gave me a price.. front is $372 and rear is $382. I bought 3 gallons of DEF instead that day.
4.) Always go with the cheapest route first, Came home and dropped my DEF tank and cleaned out the tank completely and put new FORD DEF in
5.) Cleared the code and went for a drive and still getting the P207F after 20 miles and later got a P20BA Reductant Heater after 50 miles. I'm like Damn!!!! I must have messed up something during the time I took out the tank. I guess this thing goes even without touching it sometimes.. Right?? oh well..
6.) I ordered a used take-off NOx sensors from Ebay for like $40 - Risky deal but better than paying $372 and $382 (JUST TO SEE) if this is the problem.
7.) I installed them and they worked great. No more P207F code but the P20BA Reductant Heater code came back on.
8.) I ordered a new Reductant heater from Rockauto for $156 plus $7 shipping.
9.) Installed that and NO MORE CODES present.

So far, I have gone about 900 miles with no problems. it's been only a week or so, too early to tell. I hope this helps the guys that are running into the same problem as I have and doesn't want the Stealerships to Rape them for their hard earn money. I spent only about $200 for a problem that could've cost easily in the thousands. Note : DEF is separate cost. Process of elimination is the key.

Thank you for everyone's help

When you were having this problem, did the PMC give you the count down? "50 miles left before speed will be reduced to 50 m/hr"????
If so, how did you get rid of it?

Thanks,
Kyle

Hi Kyle,

Sorry it took so long to respond. Yes, I did get the 50mph and then eventually when into 5mph limp mode. There is no way to get rid of it that I know of unless you delete it. And if you have a reductant issue code I forgot exact code #. There is a method that you run your truck for 7 minutes at 1500 rpm and it shuts it off for temporary but that’s not for this issue. I’m really mad at ford for doing this stupid limp mode ****. Due to this safety ****, I’ll never buy a diesel again until the day that I die. I’m actually afraid to take my family camping far away from home. What would happen if I’m in the middle of the country camping and 900 miles away from home and this stupid limp mode decides to come on. Going 5mph for 900 miles will take a long *** time to get back home. towing is gonna cost an arm and a leg. I’m planning on trading it in for something else. Because I bought a $65,000 truck that I’m afraid to drive because everytime I drive it I’m gonna hear that DEF sign to come on and can’t drive faster 5mph. I can hear it in my sleep. I’m done with diesel and ford and Massachusetts has this stupid inspection so strict too.

thanks,

Loth

Well, I do understand the frustration, but I have had zero problems out of my 2013. I tow cross country and have been off road on trails and such plenty of times with no issues.

I think the system is pretty reliable now. I don't hesitate to get it in and go myself.
