48/49/50 emblem paint

Hubcap lettering and the side hood FORD lettering is sometimes blue and sometimes red. Did they come from the factory like that ? What are the actual colors?
thanks

My Grandfathers 49 F1 came with blue FORD hood side SS trim from the factory, I don't have the hub caps but I think they where blue also.

My unmolested 49 had blue lettering on the hood trim and traces of the original black paint on the hubcap lettering.

Blue is what I would like to use on the F1.
Anyone know the exact blue?

Ford blue engine paint (not Old Ford blue, which is darker) or the dominate color of the Detroit Lion's home uniforms.

Blue for the hood trim. Gertie clearly had blue "FORD" lettering when we got her in '69 or '70, and she had only about 42K miles on her at the time. Still sported her original Meadow Green paint too.

Not sure on the hub caps. Most of the photos of restored F-2, and 3 trucks with hub caps sport a blue background around the Ford name. Most F-1 hub caps I have seen were not painted at all.

Emblem painting

I used blue background color for my highlighting of my badges.

The issure I have had is the paint is peeling not bonding well to the s/s trim.
