I have the new 2017 CC SRW 4x4 (white gold lariat for the curious) and was wondering what amount of hitch drop you guys are using. I found that the ideal hitch height is 17" and to the center of my hitch is 23". Do any of you use a 6" drop? Thanks in advance!
I use a 5" drop. these trucks squat an inch with not much tongue weight. Just my 2 cents.
As side note I have a few different trailers and a few hitches. I just load my trailers to there average loaded weight and adjust the hitch height to make them set level.
I bought a 6" drop Weigh Safe hitch without scale. Towing a single axle 5'x10" enclosed motorcycle trailer with a 700lb bike inside the trailer isn't level. I needed a 8" drop. Anyone wanna swap?
I bought an 8" drop but I could have got away with a 6" drop instead. I never know if a "friend" might need something low towed so the 8" is good insurance against that.
I have a 6" Weigh Safe. I regularly pull 2 different trailers, a 14' tandem dump trailer and a 16' tandem flatbed trailer - When loaded, both sit level with the ball mounted 1 notch above the bottom. I also pull my double Waverunner trailer (whenever I have the chance) and that sits level enough with the ball mounted all the way at the bottom.
For work, I often have to pull my trailers off road and have been in situations where the 6" drop Weigh Safe has drug the ground - Almost went with an 8" drop, glad I didn't.
