So I have been reading a lot of info on the F250 and why it is maxed at 10k (registration fees etc) even though it is 1 leaf shy of the F350. My sticker says somewhere around 2050lbs cargo. How can it be so low compared to the 350? I also see a lot of people adding the air bags. Does this "legally" increase the capacity?
Reason I ask is the 5th wheels I am interested in have ~2100 pin weight loaded. I know the 6.7l wont have a problem pulling it. I have the 5th wheel/goose neck, snow plow (didn't need this but every truck on the lot had it), and ultimate tow packages.
The powerstroke adds around 800lbs. If you think the f250 is bad go check out a mega cab 2500 ram with the Cummins, it's payload is down around the 1600-1700 range.
The reason the payload is so much lower than the 350 is because the gvwr is 10k and the weight of the truck itself takes up 8k of that.
