I'm going to have my Lariat grille and front emblem painted, but trying to decide on a paint scheme. Was originally going to have the entire grille painted satin black, personally not a fan of gloss, then then keep the emblem stock, but now after some ideas from the paint shop, i'm undecided.
Now I'm thinking about painting the two large chrome bars Ignot silver to match the truck, and then the 2 little chrome strips on top and bottom in Black. Then on the emblem, all chrome in Ignot silver, and all Blue in Black.
Has anyone tried a two tone grille to match their truck? Post em up and help me decide.
There are a few grille-coloring threads here with photos and one user who is a whiz at Photoshop. Just do a search for "grille" in the "Search this Forum" field above right (go advanced and search in titles only). With the smaller bars, I've liked where they were left chrome because then they "carry" the chrome theme around the grille and "connect" the headlight tangs. Just this morning, I bought a Craigslist Lariat take-off grille. I've removed the 2 large bars and will get them wrapped to match the oxford white of my KR. Then all I'll need to do is swap them out with minimal truck downtime. I'll probably hold onto the extra grille parts until I feel comfortable that the wrap holds up sufficiently.
