Improving the ride

I just purchased a new f250 6.2 ccsb and it came with the camper/snow plow package and I was wondering what I could do to improve the ride unloaded a bit. I have the 5600lb front springs, should I just get the factory springs from a non camper package truck? Also would you remove the rear sway bar? Thanks

There is no ride benefit in removing the rear anti-roll bar. You WOULD notice a decrease in handling.

I would only remove the rear sway bar if you plan on doing a lot of off roading where you need the extra wheel travel. I off-road more than I tow so I ordered mine without one. Most guys here lower tire pressure to help the ride. I keep mine at 50psi front and rear with 480 pounds of sandbags in the back. Seems to take the harshness out of it.

Removing the sway bar will do nothing to improve the ride. You might look at Sulastic Springs for the rear.

Put some weight in the bed, 500 pounds or more. I had a load on mine just the other day and she smoothed out real nice.

I find that lower tire pressure seems to do the trick for me.

Lowering the tire pressure (when unloaded) will make a big difference. Minimal work and no cost, so try that first.

As several others have posted. lower your tire PSI. Did the most for my ride. As I also did the Fox 2.0 shocks. PSI helped the most.

Thanks guys, I drive 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks on our farm all the time, but I was surprised by how firm the ride is on my truck. I'm at 60 psi, i'll give 50 a try.

Low-profile ladder bars or radius-rods on the rear axle. I'm looking for a set to fit my stock-height 2017 4WD. You'd be amazed how much they smooth out the ride when the rear axle remains in a controlled arc. Leaf springs with lift blocks always seems to be the culprit for poor ride quality. I started smiling again after I installed radius-rods on my Excursions.

I run ~45-50 PSI in the rear and reprogrammed the TPMS and added fox 2.0s

Adjustable damping shocks will help a lot. I run rancho 9000xls and run them at position 2 unloaded with ride being very comfortable. I crank them up to 8 when pulling the trailer and/or loading the bed and it rides very controlled.
