I would avoid the oreilly chinese new/remans. They are getting scarce but if you can find a motorcraft reman they are better, A1 cardone suppliers should have them. I bought a oreilly new dura spark 2 and it wouldn't even start. Found a motorcraft reman from the madporter with custom advance curve and started right up. The chinese ones have no motorcraft markings on them at all.

Duraspark system is superior to the gm hei setup in my opinion.

UPDATE** On the suspected timing chain brake issue, turns out that the cam bolt than holds timing gear on backed out and came off this then allowed the timing chain and cam gear to slide forward enough to disengage from dowl pin. Shop is gonna try to clean up threads on cam and put new timing set on, hopefully just the first few threads is all that got boogered up.
