I recently replaced my rear fuel tank, and filled it full of diesel. The front tank was just over half a tank full at the time. I parked in reverse up an incline, and in the morning came out to find diesel leaking on the driveway, and it appears to be coming from the top of my front fuel tank. The rear tank actually flowed into the front tank, and once filled, it began to spill out the breather line.
After digging around and researching this issue, it appears to be a common issue with the Fuel Tank Selector Valve.
Motorcraft Part # F5TB-9F271-AA
The “stealership” sells them for $490!
Ebay has it for $235 with free shipping.
Does anyone know of a retailer or vendor that sells this OEM part for less?

Go with the cheapest one you can find, its a 20 yr old truck. The aftermarket guys have been making replacement parts for years so people can save and get quality repairs. Its not a complex part your after, very common. Some aftermarket parts come with a better warranty than oem.
If you buy the aftermarket valve you will have to splice a different connector onto the wiring harness that attaches to the valve. I think I found an OEM Ford valve on Amazon for just over $300. Could I have saved money? Yes but I did not want to cut/solder new connector onto the OEM harness. To each their own though. I had to replace my valve because it finally went out and was stuck in the middle, it cut fuel to the truck and left me stranded on the side of the road.
