Well I switched the relay and it went from undrivable nearly to perfect for two days and now it's back to its old tricks

new fuel injectors are in the mail I still don't think they're the problem but this truck is about to get a carburetor

Have you tried wiggling the wires under the dash again?

The EEC and fuel pump relay sockets are also known to corrode on the bottom side and cause issues. Another thing to look at.

Ok so wiggling the wires again netted me nothing this time so here's a new thought back when this started I had similar symptoms to now so here it is

The eec relay takes power from somewhere, e.g. a failing sensor hopefully not some random wire, it loses power and flicks open and closed so many times it burns up problems get worse it starts to die and stay dead etc.

So what could cause that to happen where does the power come from for the relay and or what sensor could cause that

The EEC relay gets power from the Ignition switch:

There is no sensor in the circuit. It's strictly turn the key to apply power to the coil of the EEC relay.

It should be getting power I found my volt meter again so we'll see but for now I guess grounding is probably the issue

G100 is the ground. I believe it is still located on the LH side of the radiator core support. It is for 1992 and later trucks.

It's not giving me any issues currently but I couldn't prove the relay is grounding through the coil side of the relay

it's getting too much resistance so I think the diagram is missing something since it should just be getting no resistance or a minimum

The diagram is showing the full path. The return path for the coil is to ground G100. If the resistance is high, you have a problem in reference to ground. There is no sensor or other piece in the circuit.

I finished swapping the fuel injectors and then immediately it started and died off quick

it was a bad coil connector I thought problem solved and got one little tick on the way home just to prove it's still bad

I'm guessing it's fixed because I had no issues with my entire weekend in Vegas

there was a 3/8 bolt that fell out from under the dash on the trip back though I'm guessing that's why the steering column moves when you hit the clutch
