so i just recently got another bronco 2 88 xlt 5spd...well everything was fine up until i noticed my exhaust was pretty much rotted so i bought a glasspack hollowed out the cat and put it on..well everything was still fine even though the check engine light started to come on well about a week ago it started this crap where after id get gas it wouldnt start unless i would wait like 10 or 20 mins and try again...then all of a sudden it started hesitating and buckin at a normal cruisin speed...if you give it WOT it will spit and sputter for a second and then its totally normal until you get back down to the cruisin speed...this morning i finally found a place with the list of codes so i check them and i got 21,24, and 67...well those two sensors are on the way home as i speak(step-dad works at ford) but then i decided i would reset the computer and let it run for a lil see if it through the same codes now its givin me these codes instead 82,94,15,49,51.....any input would be great thanks, kevin
First, I would suggest double checking those codes, I'm not sure an 82 applies to the 2.9. I don't have immediate access to an engine specific list of codes, though, so it might and I just don't know what it would mean.
When you get a "laundry list" of codes, the first thing to do is to identify which codes are KOEO codes, which are CM codes, and which are KOER codes (if you performed the KOER test). KOEO codes and CM codes are both output during the KOEO test, KOEO codes are output first followed by a separator "pulse" and then the CM codes.
Once you've identified what type of code each is, then start by resolving the KOEO codes one at a time, usually in the order they were output.
