I got the 1999 F350 Super Duty extend cab(the 1/2 door), 7.3 powerstroke. Single rear wheel(not a dually), 4wd. ABS 2 wheels only (rear). I changed out all my brakes, rotors, and a couple of calipers. All went well, but as I am bleeding them, I've had 2 lines blow out on me in the process. So I'm going to replace them all. My question is twofold.
One is how many feet of line will I need for this truck and secondly, what type of brake line should I run? I'm not putting steel lines back in. I've heard of copper nickel lines or AGS poly armour ect... I'm sure there are other types...so what do you think??
Just buy a full kit. There are a few places that will sell you all the hard and flex lines in either stainless or the copper nickel stuff. there are other opinions on the board, but on an 18 year old truck, any material will do. I wouldn't waste a lot of money on ss lines. It's not like an 18 year service life from the old ines is bad
I hear ya. I bought 2 rolls of the copper nickel lines on Amazon for $25/ea. I read it's much easier to flare the ends and make the bends. I thought it was a decent price.
