Has anyone done stainless steel hard brake lines in their trucks? I need to do some of the lines and I was thinking that I might go with stainless. Just curious if anyone has done it or knows prices, suggestions or any kind of advice. Thanks.
I put skyjacker ss brake lines on when I lifted my truck almost a year ago. They were 100 for the front and 50 for the rear. Only used the front tho, but they work perfectly fine. If you end up going for it PM me and Ill cut ya a deal on the rear ones, I believe theyre still in the packaging somewhere in th basement.
Speaking of brake lines. Who has replaced the front lines going to the caliper with longer ones (lift)?
If so how long were the new lines and where would you recommend getting them?
The ss lines im using appear to be around 20-24 inches long (just an eyeball guess). If I remember correctly they might be around 4-6 inches longer than the stock lines, but once again thats just a guestimate. I'm lifted 6 inches and have what I would consider the right amount of slack. Got em from summit racing, front was 100 bucks.
Thanks dude. I measured mine today and they are around 16 or 17 inches long.
Mine are 13 years old also, I think it's time. The brake fluid is starting to look dark too. Time for some maintenance fo sho.
I did some research last year on SS brake lines. Finding ones for a lifted truck weren't a problem. But I don't remember finding any that were the same length as the stockers or a bit longer. You could always have somebody make some up. I've always thought the stockers were a bit on the short side.
