Seems like I've seen guys on here mentioning before that Dentside leaf springs are wider than Bumpside springs.

I measured my 70 and 76 F-250 crews non-flexo springs at 2 1/4" x 51 1/2". My 79 F-250 non-flexo springs were 3" x 55". You would have to change the spring hangers also if using Dent springs.

What's the downside of the Flex-o-Matic springs?

Yeah, why would you want to "get rid of them" ?

Flex O springs are awesome. Long and soft unloaded, short and stiff when loaded. Best of both worlds. That's why it was the "upgrade" back in the day.

FYI... DJM's shackle lowering system is incompatible with FOM springs.

1968/72 F100 2WD with F-O-M: 2 1/4" wide .. 24" > > eye bolt < < 34"

1973/79 F100 2WD & 1975/79 F150 2WD: 2 1/2" wide .. 24" > > eye bolt < < 31 1/2"

No F-O-M (Flex-O-Matic) after 1972. The Flex-O-Matic compensator uses 3 unique bushings...only a few are available NOS
