leaf springs
I need new front leaf springs for my truck. Its an early 77 F250 4x4. I saw in LMC that they carry those springs. I see they have 2 different sets for this truck, one with 5 leafs, and one with 6 leafs, what is the difference in those different sets besides one has 5 and the other has 6? Besides the different number of leaves per side what is the difference in the 73-early 77 front springs and the 78-79 front springs? Are they interchangable? I also have a 79 F250 4x4 and it also needs new front springs and i like how my 77 is a little higher and i was wondering if the 77 springs would work in the 79? I know they are both 3 inches wide. And where would you recomend getting these springs from? Any help would be great.

the 6 leaf springs are for the heavy duty version, might as well upgrade while you are changing them. The 78-79 springs only had 2 leaves, might be 3 not sure, but do not have any arch and sit lower. you can put the earlier model springs on for a 2 or 3 inch lift, I think the steering would be ok, I had a 78 where the springs were changed to the earlier springs, worked good, and gave a little lift.
