I haven't taken the time to learn which pin is the ground, etc.; but, the middle pin on the light bulb itself was bent up just so (about 20º) that, while it would still enter the connector, it would miss the contact in the connector.
The lesson is: Don't get all bent out of shape!
Thanks for all the replies. If I ever need to replace these Eagle Eyes, I'll come back to this thread for my options!
I'd give those tires a real close inspection. They haven't been made in several years now and they are probably past their best-before date. I replaced a set of those with KO2s last year because the sidewalls were cracked and dried out.
I did the exact same thing recently. Bought a truck with these same older model tires on it. Once they came off, you could see some pretty extreme fissures on the sidewall
Second, when I switch from low to high beam, the passenger's side beam(s) functions properly — the beam raises to point farther down the road, as one would expect the high beam to do. However, with the driver's side beam, when switching from low to high beam, the high beam points lower in the road, closer to the truck — like it is aimed at 10 feet in front of the truck (while the low beam is aimed at, maybe, 50 feet in front of the truck; I think you get the idea). This characteristic stays the same when I make vertical adjustments on this side.
I too have this same issue. The po put 07 HD lights, or their knock offs, in before I bought it. Glad to know I'm not the only one.
Old thread I know but just wanted to add my experience recently installing a set of eagle eyes on my 2006. Fit perfect and adjusted easily. Everything is plug and play regarding the wiring connectors. I added silverstar ultra bulbs and lighting is much improved. Beam pattern and coverage is similar to the OEM as well as the quality of construction. Haven’t had them long enough to determine if the lenses will turn yellow over time but a big improvement over the current OEMs as the lenses were yellowing badly and had micro cracks all throughout the lens which made them pretty dim even on highbeam. As an fyi, ford’s only have a vertical adjustment on the 2005-2007 models and these function similarly. Left to right was fine as is but would be nice to have that adjustment just in case.
I bought a pair of these black backed ones from Amazon and I have the same issues as the OP except it's with both lights. The lights are a brighter white when swithing to high beam but project
lower.
so factory heads only let you install the bulb in 1 direction. since you are seeing them both point down on high beam, I'd put money on them being upside down
check your bulbs, and try to install them 180 out. the LED bulbs I have installed in the headlights right now had to be oriented as well.
