Steering Wheel Tilt
I tend to drive a little higher in trucks than most people I think. I didn't order a sun roof for this reason(my head hit the liner). I locate the seat for comfort and visibility to my liking. For me, the comfort level is such that I use a pillow for my left arm on the armrest and a pillow for my right arm on the console.
The problem with all this is that I cant see the gauges very well. In fact I use the digital gauge set on MPH when driving due to the steering wheel blocking most of the upper numbers on the speedo. I cant even see the 4 gauges on top without moving my head up or down, a pain in the butt! I've moved the seat both up and down to see the dash but the comfort level is completely wrong.
SO... has anybody looked to see if they can tilt the wheel farther down? I understand the reasons why it is set from the factory the way they are but was hoping someone has done a modification to the tilt level.
That is my only beef with the truck so far.
I am not really tall, but I tried both ways and it doesn't work to have your seating so high for the reasons you mention. Not only is the view of gauges an issue, but you need pillows on the arm rests. Lower everything as low as it will go, and try lots of positions. I just got lucky the sale an set my seat in a really good spot and it suited me so well I used memory 1 to lock it in place.
The seating and steering is so variable I recommend lots of seating adjustments until you find something better for you. I also move things a lot when driving long distances for sake of comfort on long trips.
