After getting the remote start system installed and enabled using FORScan I messaged Bobby at Banner so they could activate it. Within a few minutes my truck horn started honking then the engine started, figured something either went wrong or that was part of the activation process. A couple minutes later Bobby messaged me with the PIN number and everything is working as it should!

I am very happy with the service from Banner Ford, and I think this remote start option is going to work out very well for us!

Excellent ctimrun

I also received excellent service from Bobby at Banner.
Which also included getting the ping for activation - while I was under the dash poking around for best install location... not one of my most graceful moments

I also do like the cell phone access.

Ha! Wish I could have seen it!

I have been using the remote start throughout the day today and it works great getting the cab cool in the heat, it is going to be great this winter!

Yes amusing slapstick

I did find a good spot though (and yes I know it is not critical where the modules are mounted ...).
panel
Behind the plastic knee paml under the steering column is a stamped Under the knee panel - bolts at the top and bolts at the bottom - he bottom bolts sandwich the hinge for plastic panel. - so there is room on the inside of the metal panel for the modules.

I like it because if I tug on the plastic panel it pivots down and I can reach then the security module sensitivity ****.

But do not anticipate frequent adjustments - just find the level of min noise signals and leave it alone.

Wow what a product. $200 bucks, 10 minute install and you’re done! Works just like they say on the website and you can order it with custom durations. The only thing better then the product is the company, great communication, received it in 3 days with free shipping, military discount, a real classy operation. Highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to add remote start simply and reasonably priced.

That’s great! It’s really nice to have solid options especially if someone doesn’t want the Ford system I got for mine.

So I have factory remote start and am trying to figure out how to get the seats to come on when activating it. I've read the manual and it says that when it's sent to auto it will automatically turn the seats on heat or cool at a certain outdoor temperature (it does not say what that temp is). The last couple mornings have not been overly cold, but probably in the high 40's. I would love it if my seats were nice and warm even on a not so cold morning. But they haven't been turning on. I would assume the high temp setting for turning the ac seats on is also set higher than I would want. I will check this out this weekend when we get close to 80 during the day.
The other part of this is if I when I get out of the truck the night before I could leave the heat or cool seat button on so it turns on when the truck remotely starts, that would be great. But I've tried that and it doesn't work. The seats are always off. Now the manual says (forget EXACT wording) that the seats "may" turn on when remote starting. But it doesn't say anything other than that. So what is this? Is it just a random setting where some seats switches will turn on when remote starting and others won't? I'm struggling with some of the automatic features of this truck. I wish they would not try to think for us and let us control this stuff.

I just want to give a big shout out for 12Volt.Solutions on their remote start. Installed today and used their programmer to get the instrument cluster to reflect the remote start options. Very easy and amazing customer service and responsiveness to messages. Highly recommend!

My truck is parked at my office and I am at my home out of state. Got a notification on my phone this afternoon that my alarm was triggered. I called an employee who I knew was in the shop and was told the Blue Angels had just flown over in a formation of four as they performed for an air show and set the alarm off.

I thought it was pretty cool that the system will send notifications for a triggered alarm.

I purchased and installed the 12.volt Solutions remote start kit. Here is my thoughts on the product...

Very easy purchase, great customer service, quick shipping, easy install.

However, for me, the remote start is not acting as I expected, or as it should. I have the "honk" kit, which requires 3 clicks on LOCK on the OEM remote fob. Many, many times, I have clicked 3 times, and the truck honks and locks, proceeds to flash parking lights in several different sequences, but ultimately does not start. Other times, it starts, but only after about 20 seconds. Most rarely, is starts "normally", after about 4-5 seconds.

I have tried different distances, rates of clicking, adding a 4th click to wake the system up, etc. I have not found "the method" for making the truck consistently remote start.

I'm not completely renouncing the product yet, but I'm curious - has anyone else had these problems with the 12.volt Solution?

If you're going for cell phone starting, Viper charges annually too. I've had a couple of their SmartStart in 2 different cars. If I remember correctly it's more than $49 per year from them.
I've done the Ford module installation in my last truck. Not that bad. For me, plug & play beats cutting/splicing factory wires any day. Still debating on whether to mess with it again on the new truck.

Who is this "Bobby at Banner" and why is he the go-to-guy for this stuff?

Also, if you ordered remote start as a package from the factory, which key fob do you receive?

I have had some longer wait periods, and some short ones. I've never had it fail to start. There is a contact # on their Facebook page or website that you can text or call and he's pretty responsive.

Ultimately, if I'm remote starting it's usually bc I want it running for more than 20 seconds before I get in, so a wait of 10-15 seconds doesn't bother me.

Sawankerme

I can "decode"

"Bobby at Banner" - He works for Banner Ford in Louisiana (Banner Ford is Banner Auto, a sponsor on this site).
I and many others have worked with him and Banner for the factory security/remote parts. I had a great experience with them, and also got support and info from the other members to get thru the FORscan edits to make the Ford modules work correctly (my truck did not have the remote start from factory and the process required a few steps).

If you are interested in the Ford factory remote access style start - I suggest you go to the Forum home page - then from the Marketplace tab , find the drop down to the Vendor Marketplace .- find the " Ford Perimeter Sensor and Smart Phone Remote Start - BLOW OUT!!!! " add from BannerAuto
There you will find the info you need to purchase.
I actually purchased from Banner - thru ebay .. .but suggest direct thru bBanner here might be better.

hope this helps
I am pleased with the system after installation.

That's who I bought my stuff from ~2 years ago for my '11 F150. Since I can reuse the modem, I'll be contacting Bobby again for the correct VSS. Good peoples, good service.
