ECC Valve
I purchased a tank without a ecc valve and after later examination I have an ecc valve on my existing tank. Is the ecc valve needed or can eliminate it? if so what is involved in eliminating it?

You would also have to change the fuel filler neck. Vented cap mates with a vented cap filler neck. A non-vented emissions cap fits in a matching filler neck. The tangs on a vented cap are real close to the cap. The tangs on a non-vented cap are farther away from itself. So where in the filler neck those tangs grab is deeper in an emissions filler neck. Ford did this so a person couldn't put a vented cap on an emissions vehicle.
