Well it's running never had to crank that long on one before but anyway it's running gonna let it idle for a bit and keep eye on coolant level and if all is well I'll put valve covers back on and go from there then I plan on driving couple days with the water in it and then completely drain it and put the pre charged coolant I bought for it
Well let it run a good 45 minutes after about 20 minutes at most coolant level dropped took a gallon and half to get up to correct level then it just stayed in cold fill level maybe fluctuated about 3/4 in most with the thermostat operating does this seem normal guys
You are correct, and once its up to temp it burped itself allowing the coolant to go where its supposed to, just keep an eye on the coolant level.
And you wanted to part it out smhh lol.... jK man glad its up and running never give up on these old trucks man God knows I didnt, and mine was cosidered scrap metal when I got her.
I've driven it probably 10 miles idled atleast 2 hours on top of that coolant level seems to be holding I'm gonna check it here again shortly this has been a huge project changing engine was simpler lol hopefully everything is good how long would u wait to take my chip off my stock setting I plan on leaving it there for a bit
I would go straight to what your chip was set at, its not like an overhauled engine where you want a base time so the short block dont get stressed during brake in.

I ran canned tunes on Ruby with Stage 1s for 2 years. There was never an issue. Think it would cause an issue with his truck?
Now this was simply due to laziness of never wanting to send the chip in, but it performed extremely well other than that POS auto that was in there...
