Hello,
Getting ready to order some goodies for the truck. I've been looking at wiring and relay setups to use with the up fitter switches. Was wondering if you guys could post some pics of where you installed relays for extras like lights and stuff. I think I'm leaning more towards using a water proof box, fuse /relay set up but haven't really found anything I like yet.

As always, Thanks in advance.
the upfitters ARE relays, so you MAY not need them, depending on the wiring of the device.. for example, my on board air switch IS ALSO a relay, so the upfitter turns the relay on directly.
i chose to add relays to control my light bar, so I could turn it on and off with the normal high beams. the relays were waterproof and I hung them behind the headlight, as I needed to get access to the high beam power to turn on the relay. (one for upfitter on, one for brights on).
altho the upfitters are rated at amps, I am a firm believer in keeping the power draw out of the dash.

I agree with Sam completely here. My airbag compressor power is turned on by an additional relay I added behind the r/f inner fenderwell. It's a heavy duty sealed relay with 12 gauge wire directly from the battery. With a sealed fuse of course. The upfitters only control the secondary relay, and my lightbar is the same way. My rear backup lights are powered direct from upfitter 2, but they only draw 7 amps each and are only used a few minutes here and there so it wasn't necessary in my opinion to add an extra relay for them.
Not a great pic but this is where my airbag relay is hiding. Lightbar relay is mounted near the left battery.
The Bosch and similar 30 amp relays are watertight. You can put them in an enclosure but it is not needed. You need to insulate the connections is the key to the installation. I would buy relay holders to plug the relay into.
