My son replaced four passenger side injectors today. Stopped at white bear lake autonation aka Tousley Ford.
Got four of them and when he saw the bill thought something was wrong. Too low. He did the other side earlier this year and injectors were $203 each.
Today the price was 180.00 for Ford remans.
Pleasant surprise saved about $100.00
2004, Late late build we discovered when trying to track down glow plug harnesses.
Then he got the wrong injectors, the late builds are still over $200. However it shouldn't make a difference based on some Ford techs observations as the software balances them out. Confirm with the part number on the box.
That is what I was thinking as well Jack, sort of why I asked. I do know there have been cases of guys switching them around with no ill effects, but I tend to stick to what it calls for.
I've been staying with the correct year, especially since my price is lower. What I remember is the different coatings on the plunger changed the efficiency of the injection, so the timing gets a little off. Usually what I've seen is the recommendation to do all one way or the other.
On another forum a well respected member stated that the nozzle pattern was also different due to the different piston bowls. That I've not heard elsewhere.
