Thinking about getting an onboard air system for my F250.
Need something that can fill 35" tires (37" in the futures maybe) and also fill the tires on my Toy Hauler.
We do a lot of desert/sand camping and I often air down.
Anyone have any opinions/options? I know Viair makes some nice units. Another option (cheaper) would be get a pancake compressor and run off my generator.
i want to put airbags in my new truck. I was looking at the wireless type for the onboard compessor so I dont have to make holes to run a gauge and control into the cab. is there an OBA setup that I could have that would give me air for tires and for the airbags? I dont think the little compressor for the airbags would inflate a tire. Maybe something that would have a wireless gauge and control for the bags but with a bigger heavy duty compressor to do the filling? Then a tee off to a quick coupler for an air hose? Wondering if anyone has done something like this.
I have a viair system that I really like. It's 2 compressor motors feeding a 1.5 gal tank.
For airbags I just ran a line from the tank to my manifold in the cab, then from the manifold to the airbags. I have an air pressure gauge for the airbags with the valve for fill/drain. There is another gauge with power switch for the viair system.
Sounds and seems complicated but it's not. It's been a reliable system (over 2 years now) and I use it nearly every day.

This is exactly my plan. Viair dual constant duty compressors with a tank. Airlift wireless one system. Just throw the little air lift compressor away and run a line from the Viair tank to the airlift manifold where the compressor would normally go. At least that's the plan right now. I may need to add a 12V air solenoid in that line so that the airlift manifold doesn't have pressure on it all the time. Then just run the airlift wire that would normally trigger the compressor to that solenoid instead. We'll see how it works in a month or so when my truck shows up.
