I walked by my Excursion yesterday and noticed something hanging down. I had just towed the camper less than 20 miles this past weekend and I don't remember hitting anything. The mount on the tie rod was likely just a smidge to far away for the length of that new damper which caused the rubber bushing to get stretched when you turned full lock to the drivers side. The rubber disintegrated and without a capture washer the end fell off the bolt.
that dampner seems rather small for a rig like an excursion that size looks like its from or meant for a smaller truck like a half/qaurter ton.
It was a little bigger than the Ford one I took off. But I am not sure if that was the original either. The broken one came from rock auto. I don't remember the brand, maybe a Monroe.
