IAC question

Just pulled my iac ohms are ok supply voltage is ok. My question is about how it should operate. My conclusion (correct me if im wrong) voltage supplied' valve closes. Without supply voltage valve opens via spring inside iac. On mine spring seems weak (does not want to open valve) and with voltage supplied does not want to close from open position. Am I correct in my thoughts on its operation, and need to replace it, or am i wrong and it is possibly fine. Also valve seems to take too much effort to move manualy. Thanks for any input on this.

IAC question

Thanks DW. Am i correct in how it is supposed to operate. I have never dealt with one b4 and am not sure. I also just used a programmer on my truck and it has held it idled high and fluctuating. I pulled plug on iac and it went right back to normal. If the iac is to any certainty the problem I think I would rather just replace it than worry about it fouling up again anytime soon. It also seems to have helped the issue I was having with the truck surging on me.

IAC question

DW went with the cleaning idea after I saw the price of new iac. But it didnt help, I even soaked the valve portion in seafoam for a while. Wound up havin to drop the 60 bucks for a new one which was the fix. Smoothed the idle back out. Guess that my old program was adjusted to the condition and new one didnt know what to do with it. I suppose there is not a code for the iac as I was not showing any. Anyways wanted to say thanks for the help.
