Resolving Fan Clutch Challenge
I'm trying to resolve a fan clutch challenge.
The f250 I have never heard the fan clutch come on ever. I can't check the resistance at the moment because I'm in CO and the truck is in TX. (Has had a new radiator and flush)
The F350 is with me(no new radiator but has been flushed). I popped round the relatives during Harvey and did the 975 miles in a little over 14 hrs straight through. For a lot of the trip (and I don't drive my trucks like many do) the fan was constantly coming on and off. Sometimes full on, other times like it was only partly on, a higher and lower pitch alternating roar. At stopped now and cold there's a reasonable resistance but it can still be hand turned with the engine off.
I have tried monitoring EOT for when the fan kicks in but for some reason my PIDs are giving me EOT of 99 which isn't correct. I'm investigating that now in case I typo' the PID. *turns out I had the wrong units set, this equates to 212F
Now there's a huge range of variables there to ask for dead set opinions. But what are people's thoughts and if I did replace the clutch which of these would people recommend??

I am considering an new radiator, but towing the 5th the other week trans temps were steady at 190 so I think I'm in the ball park with temps.
It doesn't matter if I'm towing or empty, but I'm at highway speeds, if the AC is on I get the noise. If it is related to the fan clutch I would not buy this one again, if it's normal then I just need to suck it up and quit bitching. Take this for what it is.
I've been meaning to ask here anyway so maybe someone has an answer that will help us both...
