Hey guys, I have to get a new fan clutch for my truck. I'm not seeing many options in the motorcraft area, so what is the general consensus on the best option?
Murray piece at O'Reilly's for$200
China specials on eBay for $60-90
Riffraff has something to convert to a 6.0 fan... Will that work?
Used oem on eBay for $150
The Riffraff option should work. There have been some instances where fan flex ate a radiator. You may want to do some research on that one. I would think No to Chinese made. Oreillys would probably be fine. Any idea where it is made? Why do you think yours is bad? I would think were you moved to, you wouldn’t use it much.
The clutch has always been bad on my truck. I think the bad clutch caused my fan to back off and eat my radiator yesterday, so I'm on the hunt for a new clutch. Also, I'll make it back to Texas eventually!
... Good thing I have a full parts truck to pull from! Lol
After some research, it turns out that the clutch Riffraff has is really a resold bulletproof diesel which is really a resold Hayden 2835 which is on Amazon (And RockAuto) for half the price.

There y'all go.
The one I got from riffraff was in a bulletproof box, and it didn't have any manufacturer info on it. Are you sure it is Hayden? I used a Hayden from Rockauto before on my 02' and it didn't last, but this one from Riffraff (Bulletproof) on my obs is still working great like 3 years now.
We'll see how long the Hayden lasts... Here's to hoping this is the last one I have to buy!
I saw the 4 seasons but didn't realize it was USA unit... I might have bought it if I had known. That might be my second option if the Hayden poos the bed.
Why? That's what you want to hear! Means its working. I have an orginal laying around someplace and I have a gut feeling its still good and I didn't need to change it.
