LED Headlights
If so which ones to buy or stay away from.
I have used SYLVANIA SilverStar in the past they put out good light but pricey and they don't last long.
The best thing you can do is add a relay to the existing wire harness, which will even increase the output of a stock setup.
And if you want even more light, and are looking to lighten your wallet, I know a guy that custom builds Projector Headlights for our trucks.
Here is a write up on how to wire up the relay's yourself whiter-whites-brighter-brights/ Or Bronco Graveyard and a few other places sell a plug-and-play kit.

Now I am running VLEDS LMZ Platinums. See here: LMZ Platinum Apparently they don't make them anymore, judging by their website. I'm happy with them and they haven't given me a lick of trouble. Note they are adjustable for depth and rotation, so as to allow you to get the best possible beam pattern without blinding oncoming traffic.
Don't worry about the cooling fans on them... when I had them on my OBS I took them off-road at the mud park and in the woods. Sand, mud, water... they didn't die then and they're still alive now in my current truck.
Don't do this expecting HID results. LED's do not provide as much beam distance as halogen bulbs and when switching on your high beams don't expect any more beam distance then, either. It pretty much just widens the light spread in front of the truck if anything. But, they do have something like a 30,000 hour lifetime rating (note this is for the emitter, not other components like the driver) and I like the 5000K color output on mine. 5000K is a neutral white, not yellow and not blue.
Any more questions let me know here and I'll help as best I can.

As far as I know it is illegal (Federal/FDOT) to use any light source or lamp housing not originally equipped, i.e. even aftermarket housings with stock halogen bulbs are not technically legal. Neither are LED taillights, marker lights, etc. Your choice on whether to run them or not. If you're worried about inspection, put regular bulbs in for the inspection them switch them out after you pass.

I would of responded earlier but I been dealing with family member in the hospital and the hospital staff.
But the Hospital staff knows me by name now and not going treat my wife badly ever again that's for sure.

COVERAGE: Up close, coverage is excellent. I got the 6K versions, which are a very bright white. They might appear a little blue to some people compared to regular bulbs, but it's very mild and doesn't look bad. It doesn't hurt my eyes aside from the fact that they are really bright. Long distance coverage is decent, but could be better. However, I can see the light reflecting off of road signs over a mile away, even in the early evening when it's still light out. Different reflectors may give different results. They work in stock housings as well.
HI BEAM vs LOW BEAM: The bulb is designed in a triangular shape with an LED board on each side. On low, two of them are on. On hi beam, all three are on. There is such little difference between the two that I just run on high beam all the time. The bulbs have little waterproof cooling fans built into them that run any time the bulb is on, so it is dissipating the heat from running all of them. They don't feel like they get anything more than warm to the touch, felt at the aluminum finned fan housing.
COLOR: I got 6K. They are a very nice white color with maybe a hint of blue. It is not obnoxious though, and does not hurt my eyes. It is really bright though, especially with my clear housings. Around here, plain old yellow headlights tend to make the road markings blend in to the road, so the strong white color helps things stand out.
PRICE: I paid around $70 for my set. I think they were Stark brand, from Amazon. It included the bulbs, clocking adapters that fit the housing (bulb type specific design; the bulbs themselves fit into these adapters and can be rotated different ways to compensate for reflector design), controllers and the correct plugs to allow your factory headlight plug to connect to them.
I run mine with one of the LMC relay kits, and I have had no problems to speak of with the whole setup. I saw one of the LED boards flicker a little once, but I haven't noticed it doing it again as of late, so I am just keeping an eye on it. The reflectors were about the same price as the bulbs.
Eventually I would like to get the projector style housings and run LEDs with those. That would be pretty neat.
