Think I might get one from Home Depot. They don't have any in the size I am looking at in my local store but can be delivered tomorrow or a quick drive to Cartersville and I can get it today. Ruled out one from HF since since the one from HD has a little more output and it comes standard with a 3 year warranty. Current forecast is 40 to 50 steady wind and gusts to 60 to 70. To me that's almost a guarantee we are going to lose power.
Those are not bad and may be about the same as a bad summer thunderstorm but still enough to loose power, especially over a long period of time.
No generators at home depot in a 100 mile radius.
The local Tractor Supply looks like they have some, but they don't open till 9.
All this unexpected spending is killing me especially with vacation coming up. But 3 to 4 hundred more to keep the wife from freaking out is worth it.
Thinking about y'all down south. Looks like we can expect widespread power outages no matter what. If the track keeps moving west, we won't see much up here in the mountains.
We we are ready to go help friends/family in Fla if they need us.
Yall keep us posted if you can and let us know how we can help!!!
Checked work email and found out they have 182 of the 5500 watt generators in stock. We get an employee discount and I can put it on my house account and pay for it a little each pay check.
I got one from my work a CAT with 5500 watts. Friday they had 190 in stock and they had less than 20 this morning when I bought mine. I hope I don't need it but if I didn't get one sure as heck the power would go out. I plan on having a transfer switch wired to the house later on.
