Newbie with question about thread size of glass window tilt brackets

My first post here. I am handicapped and purchased a 2014 Ford E150 van and have had some handicapped equipment installed, a Ricon lift, automatic door openers and a transfer seat.

In the process of installing the door openers the shop has had my door panels on and off several times and it appears they may have used the wrong thread screws to hold the tilt opening bracket on the right hand barn door. The screws I pulled out appear to be 4mm x .8mm thread but they seem to be not quite the right thread to fit the plate that is inside and they are about to strip.

I know it's an odd question, but maybe someone knows that hey, they are 8-32, or some metric variation. All the parts places just show the latch, (F2UZ-1527158-A by the way) and don't specify what the three screws are.

I will have laots of other questions I'm sure, like how to get a bit better mileage with this 4.6L and some tires and wheels info, but I need to fix the door openers first before I can do much else.

Thanks in advance!

Brian

Well, guess nobody knows... so I did some more detective work removing the screws from one of the other windows. Just in case somebody ever needs to know, the screws are 4mm x .7mm pitch, the side door uses 20mm long. Stock screw is an oval head machine screw with phillips head. I used Allen head as that is what I was able to find.

But if the the wrong screw was screwed in already to the point of stripping out, you may have to tap it out to the next size larger. If it is stripped and it is important that you don't go too much larger, you might find a standard thread screw that is in between the metric sizes

Thank you for that, it is a 4mm x .7mm but on the barn door it appears to need to be longer at 20mm. The side window on the right hand side of the vehicle, you couldn't use a longer screw as it would bottom out on the sheet metal. Fortunately the screws that were run in there were pretty soft and the threads in the back plate seem to be ok. I have one hole that's a bit tight, so waiting on the arrival of the metric tap and I will chase the threads with that before putting in the new screw.
