My wife has a very hard time getting in the truck. She needs handles to pull herself in. I do not want to put handles outside on the body. Have any of you put them on the inside somewhere? What did you use? How are they mounted?
I have a wife with the same problem getting into our F250 HD. I installed some newer model Escape handles using screw rivets in the cab door frame. I can send pics of the job if you like.
FYI 96 F250 HD PSD XLT Super Cab
Handles I used were a lighter gray than the door trim but easily painted to match. I used one of the top front trim screws as a starting point. Drilled larger holes into the metal door frame and added metal rivet nuts. Those things are bomber so you (she) can yank with confidence.
everything I needed for the job
using the factory trim screw to locate the handle on the passenger side
