While I normally do most of my own maintenance and repairs, I stopped by the local quick lube for an oil change since it was due and I am crunched for time.
They didn't have the motorcraft filter. They use Purolator Premium (not PureOne) filters.
Apparently we miscommunicated on the oil, because the window sticker and receipt say bulk 5w20, not Motorcraft 5w20.
Part of me says, it will be fine for 3k miles, and I just won't go there again. But after reading a few threads, part of me feels like I am endangering the valve train with substandard oil and filter.
This is my first 5.4, and it has 208k miles on the original cam phasers so I'm pretty paranoid about them.
So, do i just let it go for 3k? Just swap the filter? Immediately change oil and filter to motorcraft?
