Tailgate handle
I bought a cheap made in china tailgate handle for my 86 F150 last year on eBay. Only cost about $16. It was a piece of junk right from the get go. The chrome is already rusting. I decided to get a better quality one and bought a Dorman part # 77050 for almost twice the cost. Took it out off the package and saw a made in Taiwan sticker right on it. It is absolutely identical to the one I took off. I had a problem with the first one where the lever would pop past the shaft so I bent the shaft on the new one so it won't slip off. This one works well now but i think its mostly because I greased the side latches and adjusted the striker plates. I'd spend the money and buy an OEM one from ford but I'm not sure I wouldn't be getting the same junk. Can anyone tell me if the OEM one is better?
