AQHA Rebate Processing Details
I ordered thew truck on 7/7/17 which was a friday past the deadline for Ford to pick up the order so the order was processed a week later on 7/14/17. Truck was delivered to dealership on 8/25/17. I picked it up yesterday 9/1/17.
When I ordered the truck I signed up for AQHA the same day. My rebate became active 8/30/17 which makes sense due to the way that they count the full 30 days from the previous month. I ended up at the last minute getting Ford to approve my First Responder Status as an EMS Helicopter pilot and qualified for the $1000 rebate that was increased from $500 on 8/30/17. So I went to the dealer with a $750 Private Cash offer, $500 AQHA Certificate and $1000 First Responder Certificate and here is how it played out.
I could choose either the First Responder or the AQHA rebate but not both. All other rebates were stackable.
MSRP $71740
Invoice $67487
Price $65987 ($1500 under invoice negotiated hard for that)
Minus
Ford Retail Cash $1500
Ford Credit Retail Bonus Customer Cash $750
First Responder $1000
Ford.com Private Cash Coupon $750
Total incentive $4000
Final Price $61987 (13.6% off MSRP) + Tax ($5113.99) + DOC Fee ($89.00) + Registration ($776)
Total OTD = $67965.99
And yes in California you pay sales tax on the rebates....never understood this.
So all in all it was a great deal. I've been waiting and searching for months with countless hours on this forum and the Ford website. Ended up saving thousands through patience, timing, and research. This forum is awesome!!
I the total deal was discounted $8512
With 10% tax that's a savings of $8512 X 10% = $851
Plus:
I had a trade-in credit of $9000
With 10% tax that's a savings of $9000 x 10% = $900
TOTAL TAX SAVINGS = $851 + $900 = $1751
The trade credit reduces the sales price by $9000. If I had not had the trade credit, I would have paid $9000 more on the deal and an additional $900 in sales tax. So the total value of my trade in the deal was a $9900 in the total purchase cost.
