Hey all, Looking at pulling the trigger on a 2017 Expy for the wife as we have number 2 on the way. We have driven both Plat and Limited and not sure really what the biggest differences are? The limited we drove seemed to have all that the platinum did. Can anyone help me understand the differences better?
The differences are mainly aesthetic, the platinum has more soft touch points and better seats. Did the limited you test come with the 22in wheels and ccd, or the coils on 20in wheels? The ccd suspension is std on the platinum. If you driven both and dont think the ccd changes the ride, then it may not be a selling pt. For me, ccd main benefit is the hwy ride but both setups honestly are crazy smooth. Since your dealer is probably already discounting them, i would take the stretch on the platinum, just for the better interior ambiance. But if your already debating the difference and they arent willing to budge, a loaded limited will serve you just as well👍👍
I got the Limited. Could not commit to the higher cost of the Platinum for the few upgrades that came standard. Many of those can be ordered with the Limited and still come out on top. In any case, would love the Platinum badge, but I love my 16 and very happy with the 20" rims.
Thanks for all the feed back. Currently working a deal on both a Plat and Limited. Wife really wants a white one, the Limited is magnetic and the Plat is white... So, we will see. Either way, they seem more motivated to sell after this weekend, they had the regional 2018 Model there for training the employees on the tech Saturday... It was nice! but don't know if the 30k price jump will be worth it! I will keep everyone posted
Are you saying that the difference between a 17 platinum and an 18 platinum is $30k?
Yep, Right now on an outbound model I am negotiating a '17 for about ~$54k. On the build and price for a 2018 Plat, its ~79.8k. So roughly 30k after tax and all...
An 18 limited can be optioned like 17 platinum for about 70k. Also, though the sale price is negotiated at 54k, the msrp is only about a 5k difference. During initial release, 10k off the msrp will def be a no no, but after about a yr, im sure sale price will be nowhere near what were all complaining about lol.
