Dash Cup holder alternative?

Dash Cup holder alternative?
Not sure about you guys but the dash cup holder in my 2012 SD is a waste of space. Does anyone know of a replacement part that might give you more storage for change, pistol, paperwork, shades, etc..? Even a DIY job maybe..

Depends on what you have - I've got a 2011 with Captains seats and a center console that has an open spot and two cupholders along with a relatively large amount of storage space. It's not too bad.
If you have just the fold down arm rest/storage, that has alot less space.

I have the 2012 FX4 with the fold down rest. I just figured someone would have a replacement part that would fit right into the dash cup holder space. I can always DIY a transmission hump box. Those store bought ones are pretty ugly.

There was another thread on here just a couple days ago, where someone bought an aftermarket console. It's intended for switches and radios, or weapon storage, but it looked good. And I think it started around 600, much cheaper than a factory console, even used.
