ive seen a few different answer ranging from 450 to almost 600lbs. Trying to find the true weight with everything one it(AC compressor, alternator, smog pump, all the wiring, etc.) of a 302 that came out of a 95 f150. I have an engine hoist rated for 2 tons with the bar set all the way back and I would like to drop the engine and trans in together. I will be removing the radiator core support to do so.
With a lift rated at 2,000# I'm sure you would be just fine lifting the 302, all accessories, and tranny together at once. I've done the same myself. Good luck!
You will.be under 2k pounds. The thing you need to do is make sure the rolling path of the hoist is good and clear of debris. So it rolls smooth... The weight isn't the big issue, the momentum of everything when your wheel hits a ziptie and stops the picker but the engine wants to keep going is what gets you lol

Well he said the lift is rated at 2 tons so that is 4,000#. I agree that he will be fine.
You better check what it is rated at with the bar all the way out. I have never been able to get the engine into the bay with the bar all the way back.

the issue I run into tho is with the bar set all the way back, the engine won't clear the bumper when I go to lower then engine into place. Do u think it would be fine at 1 ton setting?
