Spent a couple hours reading posts on mudflaps and people's recommendations. I would really appreciate any first hand experience on the two questions below for gatorback mudflaps on a SRW F350 with snow plow springs and 20" tires:
- will the gatorbacks clear tires if you upsize to 295-65-20 without a lift
- do the gatorbacks "flex" some when off-roading and rubbing brush/sticks, etc. (I ve had molded flaps on past trucks and did not like their stiffness)
Thx for any experience/input any of you can share !
Can't help with the tire size, as I have whatever 18" wheels and tires came on my SRW F250. I do have the Gatorback mudflaps in the rear, Weathertech in the front. The front ones are the molded type you refer to, but the rear Gatorbacks are 3/8" to 1/2" thick rubber that should flex just fine.
Do the gatorbacks hang lower than the weathertechs or similar height?
Now that it's dark out I couldn't tell you, but I believe they hang a bit lower, are quite a bit wider. I got them to keep gravel from being thrown against the trailer I've got on order. Hopefully it'll do just that.

I believe if you order from other distributor different than dealerships, you can order longer ones but the difference will be that you'll need to drill the holes
Robeleo, thanks for that clarification. Eric, your thinking similar to mine, protect trailer and also boat while keeping gravel off pickup fenders too.
