Wild Country XTX tires
Anyone running these Wild country XTX tires? I'm wondering about how there holding up and working out,Trying to decide what tire to go with.I live in the central Oregon High Desert we get lots of snow and cold weather.Les Schwab tire centers are always nearby in the northwest for excellent service and warranty.I have the Lariat 20"tire option 275/65 20R load range E. I'm open to suggestions.I always appreciate the expert feedback from this forum.
Thanks, Scotty

I ran wild country tires a few years ago. I don't remember what they were model wise, but they were a mud tire. they lasted forever, and worked good in the snow. Problem I had with them is they did not stay round. Even rotating them did not help. Other than that they wore like iron, but had to be careful with them on wet tar patch PA roads.

I ran a set of the XTX on my 2004 dually and loved them (bought from Les Schwab here in Portland.) Put them on right before a week long snow and ice storm and never missed a beat. I had to put chains on (since required on highway) and personally I think it hurt the traction. About a year back I looked into a set for my current truck wanting to upgrade to 20" dually wheels, and at that time Schwab said they didn't make the 275/65r20. However I see them listed on Wild Countrys website so hoping they are now available. I printed a copy of the size options to take with me when I go to order. If not I'll got with the Toyos but just think the Wildcountrys have a slightly nicer tread pattern and I believe are a bit cheaper.

I wound up going with the Toyo A/T, as the XTXs were not available in 20"s Bad mistake, Les Schwab scratched each of my wheels prying off the balance weights. Offered to buff them out but never did. I don't think these wheels can be buffed due to clear coatings. Did I mention how overpriced these 20" tires are. I go in for rotate and balance,I always check torque and constantly find loose and way overtightened lug nuts. Les Schwab has always taken pride in customer service. Not the case since he passed away. I will never go back to Les Schwab again,In the future I will purchase Tires only at dealers where customer service and satisfaction is still top notch. If that is possible!

I have done business with Schwab for many years without any problems also, My youngest son worked for Schwab in the Portland area. Schwabs business Philosophy was founded on Customer Service. They were always eager to address any and all customer complaints and problems in a timely matter. It seems to me that their customer service has been compromised since the passing of Les Schwab and Phil Wick who were the foundation of the company. Don't get me wrong,I'm not bashing any businesses, just venting.

Wild Country XTX Tires and Les Schwab
On my second set of Wild Country XTX's bought from Simple Tire online. These tires get good traction and wear evenly. Unfortunately, all four tires are now out of round with under 10000 miles on them. MultiMiletires (supplier of the tires (tires are made by Cooper)) wants nothing to do with them and will not warranty them. Simple tire has been good and is doing what they can.
Les Schwab has been good in that they fix flats for free and have balanced the tires (in troubleshooting the balance problem from being out of round) for free. That almost makes up for the time they rifled through my trunk and left it a mess looking for a wheel key, or the multiple times i have left their stores and had to fix my tire pressures, or the time i finished the alignment on my mustang at home. However, a tire shop consistently getting tire pressures wrong (using the sidewall for pressure settings, or not checking them after a flat repair) is not great. You know, the fundamental thing they should get right, every time.
