To Lift or Not To Lift My New 2012 F350 Dually ????

Gentlemen,

My Tuxedo Black/Adode F350 6.7 CC Lariat Dually was delivered to my dealer today. I just happened to stop by right after it got there. I swore I wouldnt do it ...... but after seeing it I am dying to put 35" Terra Grapplers on it and maybe lift it a little. Question for you guys is this... will a lift kit affect the installation and or operation of a snow plow? I am def gonna put a western pro plus 8'6" on it. Thoughts, opinions, recommendations are welcome. Also if you have any pictures of lifted duallys with bigger tires I would love to see them. I think it will look sick!!!!

Thanks
Dave

just go 2" spring space on front and be done with it.. it'll clear 35"s no problem and the back you wont even have to do anything.

Would the snow plow package make any difference? I have it and the truck looks level now.

It has a plow and spreader for over 8 years, 6" lift and 35" metric tires, I ran 37" originally. My plow is modified for the xtra height, otherwise when you angle the blade half of it will be off the ground, and it will try to jack up the truck and tuck under you if you get it in a bind.

If you run 35"s plan on getting 2" wheel spacers. Also the stock dually wheels are very skinny and they really crown my tires. I get alot of miles before the outside of the tire ever touches the ground. I also found that the front felt like jello with the stock wheels. The front tires were wearing unevenly, so I took of the dually wheel spacers/adapters from the front end and got a set of 10" wide wheels with stock SRW spacing. I can't rotate the tires without a tire changer, but it feels alot better.

I lifted the truck because the plow brackets were so low I was getting stuck alot. I take my truck in the dirt for work alot and it was too heavy to be on stock skinny tires and with the extra low plow brackets.

Let me know if you have any other concerns or questions about lifting and plowing with it.

Also, if you lift it as high as mine you won't need the plow lights! I took mine off.

Nice truck!!!! Not planning to go that high. I am looking to make the truck look good and only thinking of lifting so the 35" tires look really good. I was thinking 2" or 2.5" lift with 35's should be a very nice look. Not gonna do too much plowing other than my private road and driveway.

I know there are adjustments for the ultra mount plows for height. I just installed a ultra mount mvp on my dads 2000 F-250 and there are 4 adjustment settings. His has a 1 1/2 leveling kit on the front and e are on the number 3 setting. I am thinking if you go with a lift you will be taller then then #4 setting allows. Not saying you can't make it work. Just letting you know what we went through.

Nice looking truck 1duallyman, I always loved those dally wheels.

Not a 2011/2012 but same idea, also 35" with no lift/level kit.

No need to lift it for 35's. Probably not even for 37's. The best looking Super Duties I've ever seen are no-lifts on 37's. With my old 2007 6.0L I would have to trim the front bumper slightly to fit 37's, but nothing for 35's. With my new 2011, it doesn't look like I'd have to trim even for 37's.

Leave your stock suspension alone for as long as you can. It's look and perform great, and you'll save yourself a lot of money and heartache in the process.

If you do choose to lift it, make sure you get all your stock parts and send them to me

I'm not sure what your rear suspension is like, but I bought a set of 4" Procomp blocks for the rear of my 2001 f250 but then found out that they are only for 2011-12 trucks. Send me a pm if you're interested.

I would pm you but I can't find an option for it in your drop down menu.

Look "aggressive" yet do well on ice and snow?
Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac.

It was the most aggressive looking tire I could find that did well enough to earn the snowflake in mountain rating. Most MT tires perform relatively poorly on ice and packed snow.
